Proudly one of FM Middle East’s Top Suppliers 2021

16 December 2021
  1. What are some of the company’s greatest achievements last 12 months?

One of our proudest moments was partnering with the Water Alliance Association as official sponsor of RENEW Our World, Student Water Innovation Challenge. It’s a cutting-edge school competition that encourages UAE students to produce creative and sustainable solutions for tackling today’s water issues.

We’re also proud to be named as the industry’s ‘Supplier of the Year’ in both the Facilities Management Awards 2021 and the Innovation in Facilities Management Awards 2021.

Our biggest achievement though this year, and every year, is the impact we support our clients to create. Helping companies achieving huge operational efficiencies with our water saving solutions, and smart washroom technologies (IoT) in a sustainable way is core to why VERTECO exists.

  1. What is your firm looking forward to next year? What will the focus be?

Water sustainability is a key focus not only for us, but around the globe. One of the questions posed at EXPO 2020 Dubai this year is, ‘How will we protect our most precious resource today, for tomorrow?’. VERTECO has been working for the last decade in the region to help corporations address this challenge. Now the demand is growing within private homes and rental properties too, as we all look to do our part for the planet.

David King, Managing Director of VERTECO and residential arm of the business, SaveWaterUAE, will be speaking at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi early next year about household water efficiency. This session with focus on policy and educational initiatives that have successfully changed consumer behaviour or incentivised technology/equipment retrofits to reduce water use.

Furthermore, we will continue to be the leader in providing smart washroom technology to the most agile and innovative organisations in the region. We will keep a keen focus on delivering cost efficiency and a cutting-edge customer experience for businesses in the Middle East in a measurable and sustainable way.

  1. How has the FM market been past 12 months and what were some of the challenges faced?

Increasing scrutiny on organisations regarding their response to both environmental issues, and response to COVID-19, mean a greater pressure to demonstrate results. Corporate social responsibility not only refers to issues such as sustainability and general wellbeing. Since the pandemic impeccable cleanliness and hygiene in offices, hotels and public buildings are also considered as a duty of care. In years past, there was a heavy reliance on assumptions.

Now, FM managers are expected to support this with location specific data. As a result, sensor-driven 3D IoT smart washroom technology and smart water management solutions, have increased in popularity because they allow leaders in the field to manage and monitor cleanliness and customer experience, and save money on water wastage whilst protecting the environment.

VERTECO anticipate for this trend to continue. We continue to focus investment on washroom technologies that incorporate into data rich and user-friendly dashboards to support FM managers with workforce planning, hygiene management and supporting cost efficiency.
